Ocean Science and Resource Management Consulting

Sea to Sea Advisors delivers up-to-date strategic, expert guidance customized to your project needs. Our expertise is based on decades of experience in the ocean and coastal science-to-management and regulatory space. We provide clients uncommon senior-level experience and access to professional networks in the areas of U.S. and international regulatory frameworks and processes (e.g., NEPA Environmental Impact Statements/Assessments, interagency consultation requirements, pre- and post-lease  conditions of approval, mitigation standards and best practices, Law of the Sea, etc.) that govern natural resource exploration and development for seabed minerals/critical minerals, sub-surface geological carbon storage, and oil and gas.

This program management experience is paired with interdisciplinary expertise in deep sea benthic environments, marine mammals and other protected species, oceanographic at-sea research production, public/private mapping, exploration, and characterization projects, federal procurement, marine and coastal ecology, biogeography, environmental policy, strategic planning, geospatial analysis methods, scientific literature synthesis and critical analysis, and more.

Project Pricing Options

Proposal-based (fixed upfront price)

After completing scoping for your specific project(s) but before starting work, we will provide a proposal with firm upfront pricing for each deliverable and work with you to make any desired changes. This pricing model works better for projects with specific known deliverables with effort that can be accurately estimated upfront.

Hourly rate-based

After discussing each project, we’ll first agree on a market-competitive set hourly consultation rate. We'll provide you with an initial estimated number of hours, tracking of hours incurred, and regular work progress check-ins. Hourly service can be stopped at any time for any reason by either party. This pricing model may work better for projects with indefinite, open-ended deliverables.
